Hollands & Long began its journey in 1977, founded by Brian Hollands as B Hollands Electrical. Starting with a modest rebate, Brian steadily grew the company, eventually seeking a partner to meet increasing demand.
In 2004, after many years working alongside Brian as a dedicated electrical engineer, Mike Long became a director, officially forming Hollands & Long. Together, Brian and Mike cultivated a professional reputation, successfully completing diverse electrical engineering contracts.
Today, the legacy continues. Following Mike’s retirement in 2023, his son Mark Long has proudly taken the helm as Sole Director – a testament to his journey from apprentice to director. Mark is eager to uphold the family’s commitment to exceptional electrical service and continue the Hollands & Long tradition.
Meet The Team
Mark Long – Director
Mark joined Hollands & Long Ltd as a fresh faced apprentice, aged just 16 years old. He completed his Level 3 C&G Electro-Technical Qualification and became the companies NICEIC Qualified Supervisor for many years, overseeing all of the companies electrical installations and ensuring that they meet the correct safety standards. Mark has over 14 years of experience in the electrical field and utilises this to manage his team.
Lisa Roberts – Operations/Accounts
With over 10 years of experience in customer service and a background in the education sector, Lisa helps to ensure our service from quotation right through to invoice is easy and problem free. Having gained her NVQ in Business Administration, she enjoys keeping the office organised too!
Jake Laity – Qualified Supervisor
Having completed his apprenticeship with Hollands & Long Ltd, Jake went on to achieve his 2391 Test & Inspect qualification and successfully pass his NICEIC qualified supervisor assessment shortly after. Jake oversees all of our periodic test, inspection and certification whilst also enjoying typical site work too!
Mathieu Dean – Fire Alarm/Emergency Lighting Specialist
Mathieu is our longest standing engineer having been with Hollands & Long Ltd for over 20 years! With a wealth of knowledge in everything to do with fire alarm installation, service and maintenance, Mathieu keeps busy looking after properties across Cornwall.
Adam Jackson – Electrician/Site Supervisor
Adam carries out many of our biggest contracts, liaising with main contractors and clients alike. Adam ensures the customer vision comes to life and goes above and beyond to achieve customer satisfaction.
Ben Simmons – Electrical Engineer
After completing his electrical apprenticeship and AM2 training a couple of years ago, Ben now confidently carries out contracts and periodic testing/remedial works alongside Jake.
Cian Hyde – Third Year Electrical Apprentice
In his last year of his apprenticeship, Cian is set to be a fantastic electrician. With his flare for testing and inspection and an organised mind, Cian excels as part of any team he is with.
Connor Eastwood – Third Year Electrical Apprentice
Connor is a stones throw away from becoming a fully qualified electrician, having joined us at the start of his apprenticeship in 2022. Connor continues to progress his electrical skills and demonstrates exceptional proficiency in electrical installation work.
Harry Albone – First Year Electrical Apprentice
Harry is the newest member of the team, having joined us at the start of 2025. Harry is currently shadowing our senior electricians and learning the tricks of the trade!
Dexter – Office Guard Dog
Dexter is our resident sausage dog, who you will often find sunbathing at the office!
